The residents of Avlabari, a district of old Tiflis, know one thing for sure: when women fight, stay out of it. Two legendary matchmakers – Hanuma and Kabato – are ready to battle to the death so that Prince Pantyashvili will choose their bride. One candidate is Sona, the young and beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant. The other is Guliko – crooked, cross-eyed, and lame. Only Hanuma can successfully arrange a marriage for an older and unattractive bride. To do so, she must weave intricate intrigues and prove through action that she is the finest matchmaker in the world.
