Between Olya and Nastya

Every year on her birthday, Olya is allowed to open an envelope and read a message from her mother. Her mother died when Olya was four. Olya has grown up – she has friends, fallen in love, studied journalism. Yet one fear has stayed with her: a fear of a long life. She often finds herself thinking about the meaninglessness of existence. The feeling fades, only to return again…

This is a story of growing up, searching for meaning, and working through psychological trauma. A play for teenagers about relationships with parents, about facing a harsh reality, and about overcoming the challenges of the modern world.
