Sergey Sokolov

President of the SamArt Samara Youth Theatre. 

Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation. 

He was born on June 8, 1947, in Kursk. He graduated from the The Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School (Institute) of the State Academic Maly Theatre of Russia in 1969 and from the All-Union Correspondence Law Institute (Russian Law Academy of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation) in 1980. 

From 1969 to 1978, he was an actor at the Samara Academic Drama Theatre named after M. Gorky (formerly Kuibyshev). From 1978 to 1980, he was an actor at the Samara Youth Theatre. From 1980 to 1989, he served as Deputy Director of the theatre. Since 1989, he was its Director, and since 2023, its President.
